National Operational Epidemiological Modeling Process Exercise
As part of ongoing efforts under a study to define the requirements of a successful national operational epidemiological modeling process, the Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response (YNH-CEPDR) and US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) have conducted research and outreach to stakeholders to develop a draft framework for a National Operational Epidemiological Modeling Process (NOEMP).
The purpose of this tabletop exercise is to test the draft framework for a National Operational Epidemiological Modeling Process (NOEMP) with a broader audience and within a scenario-based environment. The goal is to identify strengths and gaps of the current draft to include revisions and recommendations to the final report.
This exercise is recommended for those in the epidemiological community who support the development of models as well as those who utilize models in decision-support and consequence management activities. Participants are invited from the federal, state, tribal, county and local governments as well as representatives from academia, national laboratories and the private sector.
To register, please contact Jeff Schlegelmilch, MPH, MEP at Jeffrey.Schlegelmilch@ynhh.org or (203) 688-4485.

Would You Like to Talk About Your Successes and Challenges Related to Incident Command and Emergency Operations Centers?
The Emory University Preparedness and Response Research Center (PERCC) has been examining how health departments have been using and integrating the Incident Command System (ICS) and Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) in their agency.
During the Preparedness Summit, the Emory PERCC will be conducting focus groups to get insights related to findings that have emerged from interviews and a national survey. They are looking for participants for these focus groups. A brief description of the focus groups follows, along with a form you can complete and submit if interested in participating.
The focus groups will be conducted Thursday, February 23 from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM. Refreshments will be served. Focus group participants should have broad responsibility for emergency planning and preparedness in their local health departments.
If you are interested in participating, please click the following link, http://survey.emory.edu/fs-lhdsurvey.aspx and complete the form, and press the "submit" button. The Emory PERCC will contact you with more details about the focus groups.
