Purpose

The 2007 Public Health Preparedness Summit has been designed to provide maximum time for cutting-edge presentations, continuing education opportunities, information sharing from the field, and ample time to network, recharge and energize yourself and your colleagues! The 2006 Summit was hailed as significant national event bringing the public health preparedness community together to share resources, plan together for the future, and help colleagues in their work nationwide and around the world. The 2007 promises to be even bigger, with more resources, a larger exhibit, and peer-reviewed presentations that are sure to provide a new perspective on your preparedness activities and a bag full of tools to bring home and use in your public health practice.

Goal

The overarching goal of the 2007 Public Health Preparedness Summit is to improve the ability of participants to plan, prepare, respond and recover to public health emergencies.

Objectives

  • Describe new techniques and methods to address challenges in responding to public health emergencies.
  • Identify sources from which to obtain research, materials and resources to assist in ongoing preparedness activities.
  • Define means to improve existing preparedness programs at various levels of government.
